First Savers

It’s never too early to learn how to save money! Solway Credit Union offers a basic account for our younger Savers, giving anyone up to the age of 16 a great start in life. Our First Savers account is intended to help get your children into the savings habit, and develop their money management skills.With their own savings account children can learn the value of money from an early age, and can start developing good savings habits that will stay withy them as grown-ups.

Until your children are old enough to save their pocket mony or birthday cash themselves,, you could start them off by saving small, regular amounts for them each week or month. Why not set up a standing order to build up a lump sum for them over a period of years? Even by saving just £5 per month for 18 years, the account could accumulate a significant lump sum.......enough for a course of drinving lessons or deposit for their first home.

And as youngsters are beginning to make financial choices at a much younger age, it has never been more important to ensure that they learn how to manage their finances well.
